Exodus 19:1,2

Wow.. this reading is only 2 verses, and the pages were already done last post. so lets just post the two verses and analyze.

On the first day of the third month after the Israelites left Egypt—on that very day—they came to the Desert of Sinai. 2 After they set out from Rephidim, they entered the Desert of Sinai, and Israel camped there in the desert in front of the mountain.

So here, they approach mount Sinai. Which is where the 10 commandments were given, so I can see how this is a significant portion of scripture. We know that the Israelites made graven images while God was speaking to Moses about the law. Here, God writes the law in the way the Israelites would understand it. through laws, like how they lived in Egypt, they were used to the oppression and being under something, so God accommodated and gave them a structure of law for them to live under. However, they would take this the wrong way due to their perspective of God being a cruel judge and killer, they would stone anyone who disobeyed the law. Instead of giving mercy and understanding. A simple mistake, cost a man his life for picking up sticks. I don't believe God meant for this. however, the hearts of Israel were still in the ideas of Egypt even after they fled.

Happy new years eve, this is the last post of the year. see you in 2025.
